Introducing the future for delivering products from restaurant to destination in a sleek, careful and secure way.  Sleeves is designed to simulate the same customer experience provided at restaurant through delivery.  It is no surprise that in the last decade there has been a shift in the food delivery industry allowing everything to now  be more easily accessible.  

Companies like UberEats, Foodora, JustEats and Dash to name a few have changed the way we dine.  Booking a reservation is no longer a necessity, no need to leave your house to grab food or worry about if your favourite restaurant(s) provides a delivery service because with all the various food apps just about anything you desire can be delivered to you.  

These companies have not only provided a link between customers and restaurants, but they’ve created so many job opportunities, those existing and those not yet tapped into.  As a Uber Partner/Delivery Rider I have had the opportunity to see how it all works, allowing me to tell you why ‘sleeves’ is so important to the continuous growth of the food delivery industry.  Being in the delivery business your personality, timing and food safety is vital to the customer experience; restaurant’s continued reach and the growth of the delivery service provider you work with.   

In my delivery experience, I have faced many issues that present the opportunity for businesses such as ‘Sleeves’ to offer a solution to a very real problem. One thing that needs greater attention is the care of liquids’ delivery, from restaurant to customer. Restaurants are not usually concerned beyond the fulfillment of the order.  Factors such as inclement weather, bad roads and lack of proper equipment to support beverages, liquid food and other items fall on the Delivery Partner to assess and address.  

Here is where SLEEVES comes in.  Sleeves is a transparent, thin but sturdy biodegradable outsert that currently has a design suited for one time use. The purpose of SLEEVES is clear, to reduce spillage, reduce the transfer of bacteria (COVID-19) and loss of income for both the restaurant companies and the delivery app providers that make the food at your fingertips possible. It’s design will aid in greater customer satisfaction, decreased loss of revenue for both app and restaurant participants as well as the opportunity to ensure less orders are delivered damaged to consumers.   

The way sleeves works: place a takeout drink with a lid into the sleeve, then secure the drink with the peel and stick method. Once placed into the sleeve there will be a peel away tab that reveals the adhesive portion.  When the tabs are removed the excess plastic is pulled tightly over the lid that was placed on the drink with enough force to secure it while allowing the adhesive portion the opportunity to stick to the the thin biodegradable plastic.   The drink now being secured by sleeves is placed in the restaurants tray/packaging container and is now ready for delivery.    

Sleeves allows the restaurant, rider and customer to worry less about the liquid product spillage; creating a contactless opportunity between restaurant and customer while reducing the loss of unsalvageable food item(s).  The new way to securely protect and deliver liquid beverages, ensuring greater product security for the duration of its journey.  The aim of SLEEVES is to be an international product whose use will be targeted towards delivery service drivers and restaurants that offer various take out methods.
